Blogger Was a Friend of Mine

This weekend was quite fun. I met Jay, Eric, Mike, Jenn, Jeff and Eric (2?) at Olive Garden. It was the never ending pasta bowl, though I only at one bowl so it did end. It was quite fun. We sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant and I felt like we were very loud and obnoxious. We weren't though. We just had animated banter. Everyone was watching us. It amused me. I had a great time though. Jenn didn't like her pasta though.

Then we went to Necto. Jeffrey Michael Bartender gave me a "Jackson 5" which I thought wasn't bad and it was Jim, Jack, Johnny, Jose and Jager. So far I think the only shot that has done me in was "the Beckie". I did many jager bombs. Everyone else came and it was very fun. I really don't know where the time went. At the end of the night DJ Mark wished me a Happy Birthday so I was like a mini-celebrity. But still less of a celebrity as Mike who was in OutPost. Mark was giving out Scissor Sisters CDs. This one guy grabbed a bunch of them. I ripped one out of his hand. I'm a bad ass.

After the bar, Mike, Jeff, Jenn, Austin, Beckie and I went to Denny's. We sat there for over 1/2 an hour and no one took our drink order. We walked out and the hostess was like "you're leaving?" Hell, yes. So we went to White Castle (which I hate) only to find that it was completely gone. Like it was sucked into a vortex or something. So we went to Steak & Shake. It was pretty good. The restaurant was empty except for two people with laptops and one table of people. We also had a very "special" waitress. She was nice, but just not all there.

The next morning we left to go home. Jeff left to go to Adrian. Jenn, Beckie and I went to leave and Beckie couldn't find her keys. I called Jeff and they were in his back seat. I drove and met him in Saline. Then Beckie and I went and ate at the Flim Flam restaurant with a waitress who looked like she has worked in diners since 1952. It was anachronistic. There was also a poem about the Flim Flam framed near the cash register.

Saturday I came home and hung out. I didn't really didn't do anything. I was tired and rested. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I didn't want to drive up to Detroit again. I didn't want to go to the 80s party with the law student. (Sidenote: I hate almost all law students this year. I'm so ready to be done.) Well, I talked to this guy online and he invited me out with his friends. I was supposed to meet him at Club Sin which is on the other side of the river. We chatted online and he gave me his number. But I closed the browser and window before I wrote down the number so I didn't have it. I decided to go there anyway and try to find him. I didn't. I saw someone who I knew from the PD's office so I talked to her. Then I left and called the Colleague who had just left the 80s party and was going to another law student's house for karaoke. I went there and listened to karaoke and hung out. I told the other law student's gay roommate about tonight. I said how we were supposed to go to Sin then Caesar's. I said I'd never been to Caesar's. He was shocked. I said it was a drag show bar and I'm afraid of drag queens. He said he was too. He said he would go with me sometime. So the night turned out ok.

Today my family came up and we went out to eat at Bravo. I had the eggplant parmagiana, and it was the best I've had in my entire life. It was SO good.

Overall it was a good weekend. I'm still pretty tired, but I feel more rested today. I'm definitely feeling older though. I don't know why exactly. Maybe it's growing up.
