So job prospects have been very limited lately. I haven't received any job offers. In a way I'm ok with that. I planned on just working for the public defender for the summer. Hopefully, I would be certified so I would be able to more money and do more.
I haven't heard from some of the companies I interviewed with. I did get a letter from the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, which was disappointing, but not bad because I didn't know how I felt about going to DC for the summer.
Today I got a call from the small firm I interviewed with. They said they wanted to "engage me". I found it very strange they called me on a Saturday. Then they want me to come in today at 3pm. I guess they move fast there. I don't know what I'll be doing or how many hours yet. I hope that I can continue with them through the summer and through next year. That would be great. I've been dying to get some civil experience.
I'll let you know how this goes. I'm interested in seeing what happens.
Oh, and the person who I was doing research on the side for never called me again. I see her in court and she hasn't said anything lately. I don't know if she liked it or not. Maybe she thought I was horrible and doesn't want me again. I wish she'd let me know. I'm new to this, and I would have fixed everything for free. She never paid me anyway. I don't think I'll ask for it. It's not worth it. Instead I'll show up in court and act professional and remind her that she screwed over a law student. :)
