Yesterday, I woke up early to read for class, about 7am. Then I went to school and had class all day. I had 3 classes and I read during the E-law meeting at lunch. It was an off day for me in so many ways. I spoke in two of my classes and I was just off. My answers weren't wrong but my brain wasn't working.
After class I came home from school, made dinner and watched an episode of Firefly on DVD. It was good. I started to watch a second episode but I fell asleep in the middle of it. I slept from about 6:30 to 9. I was afraid if I didn't go to bed right away I would stay awake all night and not get any sleep again (naps do that to me). So I took out my contacts, ran to bed and fell asleep. I woke up this morning about 6:30, so I got a total of 12 hours of sleep. However in the meantime, I missed two birthdays. I was going to call in the evening, but I was sleeping, therefore I could not call. I'm sorry.
I feel awful. Birthday's are a priority, and I always try to do whatever I can on a person's birthday and I really messed up. I really want to make things right. I'll do anything I can.
Anyway, Happy Birthday Dan and Jeff. I hope you had good birthdays! I'm going to see Jeff on Friday for his birthday thing. I'm not going to see Dan since he lives in NYC and though I'd like to visit him, I don't really have the money.
On Tuesday, I had a CT scan. I drank the required barium before I got there. If you've never had barium, it's not too bad, but it's really thick and chalky. LIke the worst milkshake ever. It's kind of like the amoxicillan liquid that they give you when you're a kid and you have an ear infection. I forgot that I had to have an IV for the CT Scan. They had to poke both arms to find a vein. Typical. During they CT scan they inject die in you through the IV. It doesn't hurt but it makes you feel VERY warm suddenly, just like you wet yourself and you're laying on a table in it. It also makes you have this warm metallic sensation in the back of the throat. Normally it's not bad. This time I almost threw up from the taste sensation. The test finished I got x-rayed and I left.
Just in time for school. I rushed to the school and sat through Trusts and Estates (boring) and Con Law II (surprisingly not boring). We were talking about Plessy v. Ferguson, the case which upheld "separate but equal". One girl in my class said that justice Harlan in the dissent was just "keeping it real". Yeah, that's what he was doing...
On Monday I worked with the Colleague in Courtroom 3, FELONY courtroom. It was interesting. We had to go back to the "bullpen" where they keep the prisoners and talk to them and find out if they have a lawyer or not. It wasn't very exciting but it was interesting running back and forth through the court and the bullpen talking to people.
On Wednesday I worked in 8 with a new judge and attorney. Not much exciting happened. My attorney asked me to write a motion to supress. So I'm going to write a motion and turn it on on Friday. I actually get to bill the PDs office for the time spent writing the motion. Then the attorney asked me if I'd help clerk for her! She said that she'd pay me to do some research for some of her private cases! I'm very excited. I need to write this motion very well. Does anyone know how to write a motion supress?
Now I'm off to read for class. It never ends...
