Box Office Discourse

Hero is once again the number one movie at the Box Office for the second week in the row. I think it's awesome for a foreign subtitled film to do so well, especially one as beautiful as hero. It's very interesting that it was shelved for several years by Miramax and then decided to be released and it was #1 for two weeks.

Wicker Park did not do well, and Josh Hartnett has not had a good movie since 40 Days and 40 Nights. Garden State has been climbing and has done well, especially for only costing $2.5M to make. Other first week movies did not do well either, including Vanity Fair, The Cookout and Paparazzi at the highest spot of #4.

Next weekend doesn't look much better with Cellular and Resident Evil. I can't wait for Sky Captain to open.
