Google Challenges Microsoft Monopoly

Everyone knows that I love everything Yahoo!, but is this the end of Yahoo! and its integrated web services? That would be sad but what's cooler is that Google could take down Microsoft. I wouldn't want to see Google as the next PC monopoly but it may open doors for a tempered oligopoly, with Microsoft and Google and maybe Yahoo!. It will be interesting to see if Apple takes a stand against this onslaught over the internet. Could Apple adapt to this new web based operating system?

This article is very interesting and probably does show the future of computing. Obviously, the security and privacy issues are immense. Could you imagine a government weilding the Patriot Act having access to one large computer with everyone's data? What about terrorists attacking that hypercomputer? It's interesting that computing moved from the mainframe to the desktop and is now going back to a mainframe like environment with practically dummy terminals.
