I don't like the word "utilize". I think it's just a word that people use instead of "use" to make them sound smarter. But in essence it's just a poor word choice and prolix. I will give credit that "utilize" may be techically nuanced, but not in most circumstances. For example, "I think it's really hot the way you utilize that spatula." I don't think that has any real nuance in culinary or sex-care fields. Therefore, just use use. Thank you,

I'll assume you were utilizing "prolix" with a certain level of irony.
Can't a word in itself be wordy? I don't really like the word "wordy" either....
You're making my brain hurt!
To add to your word debate, I didn't know what prophylactic meant because I have a virgin-vocabulary. It sounded dirty so I looked it up. Then I asked an on-line thesourus for synonyms for condom, I thought i'd share the results.... 1.Planned Parenthood. 2. Rhythm Method. 3. IUD 4. Vatican Roulette. 5. Virginity. 6. Jelly. The Mangement, can I use the word jelly instead of condom or is that pretentious?
