Blogging on the Chain Gang

I may not have my job at the law firm shortly, which is fine, but I don't like how everything is still up in the air.

Last month or the month before the associate at my firm left. She's working at her boyfriend's firm or something. I'm not sure. But she's gone.

One of the secretaries is pregnant and is supposed to have her baby any day now. So that means that she'll be gone for several weeks, and there hasn't been a replacement. One of the partners sons went to school in arizona. And he came and did all the filing.

Today, one of the partners told me to "bill him directly". I was like, ok. He said that was because the other partner was leaving and going to another firm at the end of the month. I was like, what? He said, oh you didn't know? No! No one told me! Then he proceeded to tell me that the other partner may take me with him, because he really likes me. Umm...maybe someone should ask me? But then he said there's no room there, so I can stay at the empty office and work from there. But I don't know if the one partner is going to lease and use the office himself or not. He's trying to retire so he shouldn't be working much longer, but may.

So I don't know what I'm doing. If I don't have a job, that would be fine with me so I'll have more time for school and such. However, it probably will be that I'm still working for both partners, split between two offices and the public defender. So I'll have three jobs. Joy.
