So the other day, I pulled up to the gas station and the gas was $2.77. I was on E so I had to get gas. It's been so bad lately I didn't think anything about it being only $2.77, but then when I was done I realized that I got premium instead of regular. Argh! It was only two dollars more but it made me mad. I'm tired of these 70¢ fluctuations every week. It's crazy. And now there is another hurricane ravaging the gulf and even if it doesn't destroy a major city, you know that gas will be $4.50 a gallon. I swear the gas companies love this. It's sick and wrong.
I hope the hurricane doesn't hit a major city and that everything goes well. It doesn't look good though that Houston is evacuating, and it isn't directly on the gulf coast. But then again as one of my law friends said on IM this morning "No one cares about Texas" and it's a little true.
I'm very sad about the hurricane hitting LA and MS. I just wished that if there had to be such a devestating hurricane that it would have happened last year. Could you imagine if it would have been right before the presidential election? I would think that after this governments horrible response there is no way Bush would have won.
So, I heard that Warren Beatty might run for governor of California. Interesting. I think Swartenegger is a tool and should be ousted. But by Warren Beatty? Perhaps. I think first Carly Simon should be forced to reveal if "You're So Vain" was about him or not. I think that could really help us understand where he's coming from. He said that he think that the only way to beat a celebrity is with another celebrity. If that's true, will California suddenly become "State of the Stars", where every office is held by a celebrity? Are they really that much different from today's politicians? I dare say, not much, but they are normally prettier. Though I don't find Beatty or Swartzenegger exceptionally hot. I think Portia DiRossi should run for office. I'd vote for her on the hotness factor.
I didn't fall asleep until 2:30 last night. I tried to go to bed but I couldn't sleep so I got up and wrote cover letters for resumes. I'm so tired today. I don't know why I can't get on a good sleep schedule. I also watched part of that show "Supernatural" on the WB last night. It didn't interest me but it could have been my mood. It seemed like Buffy2: Back in the Habit to me, but maybe it's not. I find it odd that the WB has 7th Heaven and shows with vampires and demons. I also think it's interesting that UPN (or WB or Both?) has Sex & The City and Southpark.
I think John Roberts is going to be placed on the Supreme Court tomorrow. One of the first cases he'll hear is the Pledge of Allegiance case. The Colleague told her parents that she thinks "under God" shouldn't be in the Pledge and they called her a Communist. It's very funny. She does look good in red.

The Colleague should have added, "...and that's coming from a girl who poses as Jesus on Ryan's cell phone!"
