I was watching Channel 7 local news. They were discussing a new game played by children around the country. It's called the "pass out game" or "choking game" where children are asphyxiated by themselves or others and then pass out and when they wake up they have a kind of high. In order to ward headaches, parents are suggested to look for:
* mysterious or unexplained rope in room
* bloodshot eyes
* marks on neck (from mysterious rope)
* severe headache
I guess the game is newsworthy, but that checklist is stupid. The way it was presented too is designed to cause some mass hysteria in all parents. I bet some kids are playing this game, but most aren't. I don't think it's as large a number as news makes it seem.
What really made me laugh is the "mysterious rope". It's kind of like clue. The rope in the bedroom with colonel mustard.

Also, what if the kid is trying out different scout knots? Maybe he's got rope for another reason.
