Disaster Strikes!

Greetings True Believers!

Currently I'm in Olympia Washington. It's a really great town with a really great vibe. I'm staying with my friend Beth from CMU.

I just got here from Vancouver. Vancouver was really fun and I had a good time. Yesterday, when I went to leave I saw my car interior was covered in glass. It was a broken passenger window. Luckily, not much was taken. Except my backpack was stolen that had the power charger for my computer, the connector for my Ipod, and the connector for my Digital Camera. So now I can't charge my computer or connect things to it. Well, I went to the dealership to get it fixed and because it's Victoria Day they said they couldn't do anything. So, unsure what to do, I decided to try to cross back into the US. I cleaned up the glass and looked for what was missing. I got to customs and luckily it was warm so I just pretended like both windows were rolled down. So I made it fairly easily into the us. So I'm at Olympia and I'll have to wait until Monday to get the car fixed but it could take longer. I was pretty upset yesterday, but I'm doing better now.

They also stole my car charger (the new one I bought for $20 and the broken one) and my iPod charger and tunecast. So my battery on my phone was dangerously low and I was in canada w/o a cingular store. Luckily, I found one here and my phone is charged again. I'm just going to take everything with me from now on, I guess.

Beth's friends said that everyone in Vancouver with an out of state plate gets broken into. It's best to take everything out and leave it unlocked. I wish I would have known.

Luckily, I'm fine, not hurt, lost nothing super valuable, and I'm stationary for now. After the car is fixed I'll continue my trek. Hopefully, nothing bad happens from now on.

I guess that's all for now. I'm hoping to see Portland and San Francisco and then I'll probably come home. For a vacation, this is not very relaxing. I hope everyone is doing well and I'll talk to you soon.

WTF? I thought all Canadians were nice and polite and said things like "Eh?" and "Would you like a Labatt?" I didn't think they broke into cars.
