Legend of Earthsea

A Wizard of Earthsea, one of the greatest fantasy books ever, is being made into a miniseries on the sci-fi channel. It starts on December 13th and stars Kristen Kreuk and Isabella Rosselini. I wish I had cable so I could actually watch it. Boo.

Anyway, I hope the miniseries is good, and I recommend reading "A Wizard of Earthsea" by Ursula K. LeGuin when you have a minute. It's a very short book, but a great story. Classic fantasy!

Random: Audrey Tautou is in a movie called "A Very Long Engagement" and soon will be in a movie called "Lost Seamen".

[ADDENDUM]: I noticed that a lot of people have been visiting this post to read about Earthsea and I think it's great. Thanks to everyone who has visited this link. I feel bad for not posting more about it so here are my thoughts.

So far I have read "A Wizard of Earthsea" and "The Tombs of Atuan" and part of the "Farthest Shore" but I got distracted and couldn't finish. Anyway, I think that the Earthsea books that I have read are some of the greatest fantasy books ever! The books have some great themes that expand well beyond the fantasy world. But the world is so unique and so rich. I love the concept that everything in Earthsea has a unique name, and that name is unknown but once you know it or say it you can exercise control over it.

This all has reminded me to read the Earthsea books. Thanks for visiting the site and feel free to leave comments for me.
