On Saturday, since I had to get up early on Sunday, I stayed home, watched two movies and painted some shelves.
Two Brothers - After his mother died, Riley moves to Vancouver to live with his brother Chad who he has not seen in 6 years, since his father's funeral. The movie was made on a budget of $545 dollars and had a cast of four and crew of one. It was a really good movie with a good story. I felt the ending was a little weak and didn't elicit the emotion it should have. I did enjoy the ambiguity of the ending, where the audience is left wondering what will happen.
Though the movie was good, I couldn't help but think "My Romantic Comedy" a film by my friend Jason was WAY better. I'm really serious. His movie was one of the best movies I've seen this year. I have it on DVD if anyone wants to watch it.
Tape - Starring Uma, Ethan and the guy who killed himself in Dead Poets Society. This movie was interesting because it had a cast of three and was filmed completely in a hotel room. It's the story of one friend who creates an elaborate setup to tape a confession of his long time friend. The movie was very good and was not boring like I expected it to be. I thought that all the actors were great. It took place in Lansing. I enjoyed the uniqueness of it thoroughly.
