Me Without You

This is just something I'm working on. I think it borders cheesy and cliche, but I needed it out of my head and into cybercyberland

* * *

Have I risked too much by opening my soul to you?
I've bet it all on double zero, and the wheel of fate is spun
I'm gambling with my heart, and I think that you are too...

Will fate be kind or cruel?
Will I win or lose?
Is this what it all comes down to?
All or nothing, me without you?

Some compare love to a game
Others to a sport
But maybe it's a game of chance
And I can't keep score

Will destiny be gentle to me?
Or will it all go wrong?
Is this what it all comes down to?
Nothing and everything, you without me?

Romance is for the weak of heart
Who can't afford the game
We're pittied by the gamblers
Though in the end we're both them same

Will kismet come but once in life
If ever at all?
Is this what it all comes down to?
Taking the spring with the fall?

You took a chance on me, and I did the same with you
And only now can life begin
If you never bet what you've got
You can never hope to win

Will prudence replace chance in the game of life?
I've decided it must be
For I can't spend another day
Without you here with me
