TNOF INTERVENTION: THE PLAY

ACT 1
(John is on drugs and his friends have decided an
intervention is necessary because they think John is
on too many drugs and he likes drugs. Also, John
won't put any pants on. Scene takes place in a living
room with a large television. John and Julie are in
the room)

JOHN: Boy howdy! I sure likes to take drugses!
Especially these here drugs from the dentist guy.
(raises baggie of drugs and them takes them)

JULIE: What are you doing, hon?

JOHN: Taking my pain medication.

JULIE: Good.

JOHN: Now I have taken them. Whoaaaaaa... dizzy...
ughhhh...

(MICHAETOPHER enters)

MICHAETOPHER: Hey John and Julie. I was just upstairs
checking the data on a computer. Our friends will be
here soon to watch television and not to have an
intervention.

JOHN: murple...

(BECKICA, AUSDAN, RYRIS enter)

BECKICA: Hi. We are here to watch television and not
to have an intervention.

AUSDAN: I am also here to sit on the chair.

RYRIS: I am acting naturally.

JULIE: Hello.

JOHN: ugh.

(MICHAETOPHER picks up a remote and turns on the tv)

MICHAETOPHER: Now let us commence the watching of
television and not having an intervention. (turns tv
back off) Actually we are having an intervention and
not watching the television.

JOHN: gugg?

JULIE: John's just on pain medications. He isn't a
junkie.

RYRIS: If he isn't a junkie, why won't he put on some
pants?

AUSDAN: Yeah. Isn't it pepsi clear, don't you know
it?

BECKICA: Think about the children!

MICHAETOPHER: Don't you see that by not wearing pants
you're ruining your future?! If you can't put pants
on we'll be forced to always have an intervention and
not watch the television?

JOHN: blub?

JULIE: Are you all insane? He isn't an addict.
There's no need to have an intervention.

RYRIS: But he isn't wearning any pants!

JULIE: Geez. Here, look. I'm going to put pants on
him. Lift your legs hon. See, he's go pants on now.

MICHAETOPHER: This was the toughest thing we've ever
had to do. I'm glad things will be ok.

BECKICA: But for how long?

AUSDAN: Santa?
